What an email brings with it
When you write, the email carries your name where you give it, an address for the answer, a phone number if you add one, and the text of your message. Field notes from a site visit join the file once work begins.
What the emails are there for
To reply to the enquiry and, where work follows, to keep a record of the engagement. The lawful basis is Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR for the steps leading to a contract and 6(1)(f) for the ordinary correspondence of running a small business.
What the button does not do
The contact button posts nothing to a server anywhere. It fills in your own email application and the message travels the way any email does. The website keeps nothing of yours.
Who gets to read it
The practice itself, and the providers behind the email and hosting, acting for us. Nothing is shared with other shops, sold, or placed on mailing lists.
How long things stay
Enquiries and their answers are kept while the matter is live, then cleared at the next review. Files for carried-out work are held as long as accounting and limitation rules require, and no longer.
The ordinary subjects
Most messages here describe a machine that has stopped, a network corner that misbehaves, or a wish to arrange a coverage reading.
What you may ask for
Access to the data held about you, correction of any mistake, erasure where retention is not standing in the way, restriction of use and objection to the legitimate-interest basis. A call or short letter is enough; the reply comes within a month.
